Judit Váradi
Judit Váradi is a pianist and associate professor at the University of Debrecen Faculty of Music. She obtained a degree as a piano professor, music teacher, choir leader, répétiteur, and cultural manager. She received her PhD in 2010 at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. The title of her dissertation is: How to educate an audience to acquire a taste for classical music?
Since 2016, she is a lecturer at the Partium Christian University in Oradea, Romania. Since 2015, she is supervisor, lecturer at the Doctoral School for Humanities of the University of Debrecen. She founded the Music Pedagogy Conference in Debrecen.
She has also created two records, assembled from Hungarian composers’ works for saxophone and piano with her permanent chamber partner.
Since 2017 she is a member of public body of the Hungarian Scientific Academy.
She is artistic director for the Young Musicians’ Summer Academy and Kodály Zoltán World Youth Orchestra.
She was awarded the Artisjus Prize in 2010 and the Prize for the Culture of Debrecen in 2019.
She is head of research projects supported by the. Hungarian Academy of Arts Research Institute of Art Theory and Methodology.
