Kátya Tompos
The Jászai Mari award winning actress first showed off her singing talent in the movie Valami Amerika 2. The song, Magányos Csónak quickly became the favourites of many. In the 2013 rendition of Stephen the King she stole the hearts of audiences at the Papp László Budapest Sportaréna and the Szegedi Szabadtéri Szinpad in the role of Réka. Even though her singing talent has only gained traction in the recent years, Kátya is well versed in the worlds of jazz and pop music.
In November, 2013 she released her first solo album, Across Europe, working together with songwriter Hrurka Róbert.
in 2015 she played the role of Mary Magdalene in the Csiky Gergely Theatres Jesus Christ Superstar.
Since September, 2016 she’s been playing the role of Eliza Doolittle in the Centrál Theatres popular adaptation of My Fair lady.
In September, 2017 she released her second solo album, Holdjárat, in which she not only shows off her singing talent even more, but shows her skills as a lyricists and songwriter as well.
in 2017 she won the Centrál Theatres Audience Award.
in 2019 her song, Viszlek Haza became the official song of the popular event “Night of Theatres”.
During the fall of 2019 the Madách Theatre debuted the Once/Egyszer musical, in which Kátya plays in the role of the female lead character. in 2020 she made her own adaptation and music video for the song “The Hill”.
In 2019 she won the Hangvilla award for pop music.
During her carrier Kátya worked with famous musicians and bands such as Hrutka Róbert, Zorán, The Budafoki Dohnányi Szimfonikus Zenekar, the Danubia Zenekar, Goran Bregovic, Borbély Mihály, Modern Art Orchestra, Hot Jazz Band, Sárközi Lajos and band, the Söndörgő or the Klezmer band.
