The KODÁLY PHILHARMONIC DEBRECEN is the professional symphony orchestra of Debrecen. The director of the institution since 2011 is conductor Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, organist. The Bartók-Pásztory Prize-winning Kodály Philharmonic, founded by the Hungarian State Railways nearly a century ago, has gained a new image in the recent years: it is receiving more and more ground and recognition in the musical life of Hungary and the world. The ensemble is regular participant of Budapest Spring Festival and CAFe Budapest Contemporary Art Festival and co-founder of the Russian Music Festival; also a member of prestigious international productions in both symphonic and opera literature.
