Cziffra Festival masterclass and workshop

Led by János Balázs pianist

The Hungarian pianist, awarded with multiple international and national accolades, who has performed in almost all major concert halls around the world (Concertgebouw, Konzerthaus, Barbican Centre, Tchaikovsky Hall, Palau de Musica), is an associate professor at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest and a member of the jury of some of the world’s prestigious international piano competitions (Long-Thibaud Piano Competition, Liszt Competition, Cziffra Competition), pays special attention to supporting talented young artists and enhancing their careers. One excellent way of doing this is through the piano masterclass and workshop in Oslo, which focuses on the Hungarian musical heritage. Welcome are the applications of young pianists who would like to delve even further into the intricacies of the famous piano technique coming from Ferenc Liszt, the art of the most significant composers and performers of the Hungarian classical music heritage, including the work of György Cziffra and the world of improvisation. The repertoire will focus on some important compositions of the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and modern piano repertoire. Participation is free.
