Ábel Jász
Ábel Jász is a Hungarian cellist, born on October 3, 2000, in Budapest. At the age of 11, he achieved second place in his first national competition. In 2015, he won first prize at the National Friss Antal Competition, followed by third place at the Antonio Janigro Competition in 2016. The following year, he secured first place at the National János Starker Competition. In 2021, he and his chamber music partner achieved second place at the Danubia Talents Competition.
He began his university studies in Graz under Julian Arp. From 2020 onward, he continued his education in the class of Ditta Rohmann. Later, he had the opportunity to spend a semester in Salzburg, studying under Giovanni Gnocchi.
Some of his most significant masterclass experiences have been with renowned musicians such as Frans Helmerson, Narek Hakhnazaryan, Kian Soltani, David Geringas, Camille Thomas, and Maximilian Hornung.
He has collaborated with several internationally acclaimed orchestras, including the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam, Concerto Budapest, the Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra, the Hungarian Chamber Orchestra, and the Blaricum Chamber Orchestra.
In 2017, he was selected for the MOL Talent Support Program, and from autumn 2024, he has been a mentee in the Talentum Hungaricum program, where János Balázs supports his artistic development.
