Szabolcs Szamosi is an organist and cultural manager. He completed his studies at the Universities of Music in Graz and Salzburg, where his mentors included Hannfried Lucke, Ernst Triebel, and Joseph M. Doeller. At the age of 23, he became the musical director of the Pécs Basilica, where he played a key role in the renewal of church music.

He has performed organ concerts in nearly every European country, as well as in North and South America. He regularly collaborates with world-renowned classical music artists, including José Cura, Erika Miklósa, Matthias Höfs, Barnabás Kelemen, and István Várdai. He is also known for his enthusiasm for unique instrumental combinations and the presentation of new musical concepts.

As a result of exciting musical experiments, he has performed with Márta Sebestyén, István “Szalonna” Pál, Sigmund Groven, and László Dés.

Since 2013, he has served as Managing Director of Filharmonia Hungary. Thanks to his work, nearly two thousand concerts, three major festivals, and several prestigious international competitions take place annually. He is the creator and organizer of the International Night of Organs program, which has been held in nearly 40 countries across six continents. Several of his musical program ideas have grown into a long-standing, successful series of events. Since 2020, he has also been serving as the music director of the Szeged Cathedral.

His artistic and cultural contributions have been recognized with the Ferenc Liszt Award and the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of Hungary.
