Barbara Fazekas
As music and the piano have been a part of her life since her childhood, she continued her higher education studies as a classical pianist. In 2019 she received a highly qualified master’s degree in piano from the University of Debrecen.
During her studies, she participated in the National Piano Competition, which was organized in 2014 in Debrecen, from the works of Hungarian authors, where the jury awarded a third prize, as well as in the National Schubert-Debussy Piano Competition in 2018. In 2016 she got the possibility to play in the final of the György Cziffra National Piano Competition, in 2017 the jury gave the second prize at the 27th Young Musician International Competition “Cittá di Barletta” event, and in September of the same year, in the 2nd Danubia Talents International Piano Competition, the jury evaluated her performance with a third prize. In 2018 she received a Memorial Card at the 8th Chopin International Piano Competition in Budapest, and in 2020 she also received a third prize at the 5th Danubia Talents International Music Competition.
In addition, she took part in several master classes, for example in 2013 the master class of László Baranyay and Kálmán Dráfi and in 2017 on the master class of the Cziffra Festival. In the recent years she played on the master classes of György Nádor, Attila Némethy, Gábor Eckhardt, Gusztáv Fenyő, Tamás Ungár and Irén Pólya.
She met music not only as a performer, as she has published many concert critiques of Hungarian and international music events in the cultural magazine “Országút”.
