Earning his degree as an organist in 1989 and as a pianist in 1990, Csaba Király graduated from the Ferenc Liszt Academy, Budapest. As an undergraduate he won seven first prizes in Hungary and two international first prizes (Cagliari, New Orleans) in piano competitions. He regularly gives both solo piano and organ concerts, number of concert series in Hungary and throughout the world. He has played the complete sonatas of Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert, popular sonatas of Haydn, a significant portion of Schumann and Chopin piano works, the complete piano works of Béla Bartók, as well as piano works of Franz Liszt, and the complete organ works of Liszt and Bach. He is also specialized in performing contemporary music, as well as in classical and jazz improvisation. He has made several organ adaptations from great symphonic and oratoric works, and piano transcriptions from various operas. His organ transcription repertoire consists of two complete symphonies, six symphony movements, a symphonic poem, overtures, orhestral suites and incidental music, four concertos, two oratorios, two masses and numerious piano etudes. He also makes piano transcriptions, paraphrases form different operas. In 2003 he was awarded the Liszt Ferenc prize for his artistic activity. In 2013 he has been elected the president of the Hungarian Ferenc Liszt Society. A few years he worked as a piano teacher at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, one year as organ guest professor in the Organ Department of Taegu-Hyosung University in South Korea. Since 2002 he has been chairing the Piano and Organ Faculty in the Institute of Music of the Faculty of Music and Visual Arts at the University of Pécs. He worked there three years as the director of the Music Institute. Currently he is piano and organ professor, as well as board member in the Doctoral School of the institute. Beside his teaching profession and performing artist – he also served as the director of the Béla Bartók Memorial House in Budapest between 2014 and 2017.
