Gergely Devich
Gergely Devich cellist is a 22 years old student of the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, Budapest, his cello teacher is professor László Mező and István Varga. His chamber music teachers are Miklós Perényi, Márta Gulyás and Péter Kováts. He took part on several masterclasses: László Fenyő, Adrian Brendel, István Várdai, Oleg Kogan, Gustav Rivinius, Reinhard Latzko, Lluis Claret, György Pauk and Marko Ylönen. In 2014 he got third prize at the Eurovision Young Musicians in Cologne, representing Hungary. In 2015 and 2018 he had recitals in Liszt Academy, Solti Hall.
As a soloist he played with different orchestras and conductors: Budapest Festival Orchestra with Ivan Fischer, Concerto Budapest Orchestra with András Keller, Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra with Tamás Vásáry, MÁV Symphony Orchestra with Kobayashi Ken-Ichiro, Hungarian National Philharmonic Orchestra, Liszt Ferenc Chamber Orchestra and Targu Mures Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2020 in Müpa he played Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with Maxim Vengerov, Fülöp Ránki and MÁV Symphony Orchestra.
He played chamber music with Nicolas Altstaedt, Maxim Rysanov, Zoltán Kocsis, Dénes Várjon, Christoph Richter, Dejan Lazic, János Balázs, Nobuko Imai, Máté Szűcs, Szabolcs Zempléni, Marta Gulyás and Andrea Vigh. He played in Mláda Praha Festival and Bratislava Music Festival, in Kaposfest and Cziffra Festivals.
He got Junior Prime Prize and Cziffra Talent Prize, his first CD was published by Hungaroton in 2015. He played several concerts in Radio Bartók. In 2019 with Korossy Quartet, he got first prize on Weiner Leó Chamber Music Competition in Budapest.
