Gyula Nyári

pianist

Music captivated him from an early age, and he inherited a rich musical tradition from both sides of his family. His early fascination with the piano was also shaped by renowned bar pianist Rudolf Torma, who introduced him to the distinctive world of bar music.

He studied at the Bartók Béla Conservatory before entering the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in 1997. He also participated in masterclasses with legendary pianist Zoltán Kocsis and several international artists. In 1999, he received an award from the Cziffra Foundation and began his professional career as a bar pianist. He graduated with distinction as a pianist and teacher in 2004.

Since then, he has performed throughout Europe and at many prestigious venues and hotels in Budapest. He has also worked as a pianist at the Hungarian State Opera and as a répétiteur for the Hungarian National Ballet. In 2021, together with fellow musicians, he founded the Hungarian Association of Bar Pianists, the country’s only dedicated organization for bar pianists.
